Parenting the Challenging Child

This 2-hour, video-based workshop led by Parenting the Challenging Child author and LSCI Institute COO, Signe Whitson, offers parents and caregivers dozens of brain-based, trauma-informed, relationship-building strategies.   Participants will learn:

• How to improve relationships with their child(ren)
• What is happening in a young person’s brain during periods of stress and conflict
• Proven strategies for de-escalating stressful situations and preventing problem behaviors
• How to respond to children in ways that interrupt the dynamics of conflict

Online Course Format

1. Following the simple registration process (see link below), you will gain access to the Parenting the Challenging Child video-based training presented by Signe Whitson.
2. A copy of the Parenting the Challenging Child book will automatically be shipped to the address you list in your registration and should arrive within 7-10 business days.
3. The course is not timed; participants are free to watch the video on their own schedule, to start and stop it as needed, and to re-watch it as often as desired.
4. Upon completion of the video, participants are asked to submit an online course evaluation.  Once the evaluation is received, the LSCI Institute will email a Training Certificate.
5. Workshop fee: $49.99

Viewing the Modules

Below are the links to the modules for your online course. Click on each module in order to watch the training videos in succession. At the end of each video will be summary of points you should take away from the module. Once you watch the video, you can always go back to it for a refresher.

Some school networks intentionally block video content from being viewed. If you are unable to view the videos while connected to your school or work network, please contact your IT department to unblock the video content or view the videos on a different network.
