LSCI is trauma-informed care in action! Alex Cameron, Director of Clinical Services, Pressley Ridge

LSCI Master Trainers are those professionals within our certified Trainer network who have been teaching LSCI for more than five years, have an advanced degree, have certified over 300 professionals in LSCI, and consistenly receive the highest ratings from participants. These esteemed trainers have also made significant contributions to the LSCI Institute and to the practice of effectively reaching and teaching young people.

We are very proud to announce the names of our two newest Master Trainers:

Benny Leesen is an LSCI trainer based in Belgium.
He was trained in LSCI 15 years ago in Hoepertingen by Gerrit De Moor and Franky D’Oosterlinck. As a teacher in the university college of Limburg, Benny taught LSCI to hundreds of students, educators and other professionals. Among his major contributions to LSCI is the translation of the LSCI book and training materials into French. Benny started training in Bordeaux, France and based on his work, we recently received an inquiry about certifying France’s first LSCI Senior Trainer. What an accomplishment it would be to build this bridge and bring LSCI content to French-speaking professionals!
(Thanks to Frany D’oosterlinck for submitting this introduction!)

Benny is standing second from the left, along with LSCI colleagues form the 2018 EFeCT Conference in Norway.

Danielle Theis has been training LSCI to professionals for almost 10 years and has been working successfully with youth who experience mental health and behavioral challenges since 1990. She prides herself in assisting schools in becoming trauma responsive. Danielle is a licensed psychotherapist, Director of Special Education, and K-12 Principal. Her experience includes serving youth through residential treatment, school social work, child protective services, children’s mental health services and centers for child victims of domestic violence. Danielle has served as the Administrator in Setting IV programs in public schools for seven years. In 2010, Danielle became the Principal of New Dominion School of Gerard Academy serving students within a residential treatment facility. She is acknowledged by the Minnesota Department of Education as an expert in reducing restrictive procedures and working effectively with children who display significant behavioral challenges. Danielle provides trainings and consultative services to support children experiencing mental health and behavioral challenges, and the adults who serve them, in our schools and communities.

Please join me in congratulating Benny and Danielle on their accomplishment! We are honored to welcome you as our newest Master Trainers.
