LSCI Training in Atlantic County, New Jersey
LSCI trainer, Michael McKnight recently completed LSCI training with educators in Atlantic County in New Jersey. Michael, co-author of the book Unwritten, The Story of a Living System: A Pathway to Enlivening and Transforming Education, is a wealth of knowledge of how to incorporate the latest findings in educational neuroscience to the practice of LSCI in schools and treatment programs with kids.
Here’s what his participants had to say:
Having been in education for the past 28 years it was reaffirming to see there is a research base and process for addressing and working with students in crisis. While some of this may come naturally to some professionals the framework and information is key in staff internalizing the strategies in order to address students’ needs.
Mr. McKnight’s wealth of knowledge and ability to teach the information in an engaging, insightful and meaningful way is second to none. Without a doubt, due to the content and the presenter’s delivery, this was one of the best professional development sessions I have attended.
Mike was a wonderful trainer. He responded to all questions of the group in a very insightful way. We learned a lot from him each day. He also shared his own experiences working with students which was very helpful.
This information MUST be shared with all stakeholders- particularly the understanding that we are not in the business of punishing students, but educating them.
Mr. McKnight is extremely knowledgeable about dealing with troubled kids. His insight and experience combined with the program content makes for a very powerful in-service training.
